This past weekend I made my way down to a friend’s apartment set very close to the Southern Californian shore. The sand is literally steps away and being a fantastic day we were out in the sand right after grabbing some food. With us came drinks, towels, sun tan lotion, a football and volleyball. There is nothing better then tossing the pigskin around while your toes bury into smooth luke warm sand. Running back and forth to grab passes and then later get the volleyball over the net had me sweating big time.

I’ve been spending serious time in the gym working on endurance but I quickly found out there is much more work to be done. Volleyball is tough in general. In the sand on a hot day it is even harder. Not to say it isn’t so much fun to sprint and then lay out stomach first for a save. I smelled bad afterward and the day had just begun. With no cologne fragrance, everyone around just had to deal. I was just watching a TV show that was having make-overs for men and women. The experts went to various stores or just on the street and ambushed people who really didn’t have a style or were stuck in the eighties. Wow! I am always flabbergasted on what a decent hair style, make-up and Trendy Clothes can do. These people didn’t even look like the same people. They all came out so happy and some were floating on air to see what a difference keeping in style can do. The Trendy Clothes they all had on made them all look polished and sophisticated. Hopefully, the people that got made over will keep up on the hair style and did learn how to shop for themselves. Sometimes I like to surprise my husband with little gifts here and there to let him know that I'm thinking about him. Last week I visited the hair salon where I asked my hairdresser Jamica to trim any dead ends off my hair, layer it and color it red. Hence I am passing this hair care tip along to all other women who have a fondness for red hair dye. According to Jamica women with a red color should wash their hair in the coolest water they can stand to use. Apparently washing red hair in cool water helps to preserve the color for longer so that the red is slower to fade. This hair care tip was not one I had ever heard before Jamica told me about it. That might be why my red color has always faded between one hair appointment and the next. I have taken Jamica’s hair care suggestion on board. Since last week I have only used tepid water when washing my hair. It is a little early to tell if Jamica’s hair care tip is working but I guess I’ll soon know how good it is.

I got out of the shower this morning after getting back home from my early morning run and I was doing my hair and I realized that I was really running low on the hair care products that I like to use everyday. There are about a week’s worth of usage at best left in the hair care products that I have in my bathroom, and so I decided that today would be a good day to start shopping online for new hair care products to order so that the new ones arrive before my current supplies – which are dwindling – finally run out. I only shop online for the hair care products that I use because they are pretty premium brands of hair care products, and generally speaking you would not be able to find them locally if you tried. And besides, even if you could, you would easily pay double the price. There are only select days every month where I really look to trendy clothes before stepping out the front door. Once in a while it is for a business meetings but most of the time it is after showering around 7 pm before going out to get drinks with friends. Trendy clothes are more of a must then a choice when going to the more popular lounges and clubs in Los Angeles. Personally, I don’t agree with it but there is nothing I can do. At the same time, it is hard not to feel good and confident wearing some fresh trendy clothes into a dark lit lounge sardineed with beautiful people.

Too bad trendy clothes don’t make you dance better. I definitely have two left feet so looking classy from the sidelines is usually how it goes. That is until a few too many drink go down the hatch and I for one reason or another don’t think I’ll embarrass myself on the dance floor. These moments are best served when friends don’t have a camera phone nearby.

I have a longer hair care style that I really like to maintain, and last night my friend Alex was over, who is a hair care professional, and she had all of her hair care style tools with her. She asked me if we wanted to play around with different hair care styles and I played into her games. So we decided to bleach the front tips of my hair and then add some blue streaks to them, because I have a really big show coming up with my band. I had thought that the hair care styling would really take a lot longer than it did, but all in all it took about two hours. What is really cool about the hair care style products that she has is that the blue dye can be easily washed out after my show and I can dye my hair back to brown; which is the normal color that my hair is. But thanks to her help and her expertise with hair care styling, I should look really fab at my next upcoming show—which is on Saturday of this weekend!

What does hair care mean to you? I guess the answer to that question largely depends on who you ask. I know some women who take great pains to make sure that their hair always looks perfect. However these same women sometimes do things to their locks that I do not consider to be hair care at all. I am talking about women who bleach their hair white blonde and have the roots fixed every four weeks. I also am talking about women who use a hair dryer, heated rollers or a flat iron on their hair every day. Of course one could argue that blow drying, bleaching, curling and straightening are a part of hair care. However I have always thought that such hair care treatments ultimately do more harm than good because they dry the hair out and make it feel very brittle.
To me hair care means getting a trim regularly, using natural products at home and using a high end shampoo and conditioner. I do not mind investing in the best hair care products when it comes to shampoos, conditioners and serums. That’s because I’ve noticed that high end hair care products are more effective. However I do not pay full price for my good quality hair care products. Instead I get on the web and look for a good discount.

I know a lot of women don't want to have really long hair because it takes more hair care. I have had both extra long hair, and shoulder length hair. I have realized that it does take more time to care for the extra long hair, but not a really big difference. It takes a little longer to dry, and costs a little more to maintain. But I love having long hair so much, that those small things don't bother me at all. I take do more hair care in my routine than some might, whether my hair is longer or shorter. I go through spurts where getting a haircut or styling it before going out just gets old. It has been this way since Junior High. I like to switch in between wearing hats and having a short enough cut where hair care is simple as taking a shower in the morning. I an not a vain guy. Never have been and never will be, but I do like to take my appearance seriously. Yesterday as I was getting my hair trimmed the barber commented I was developing a bald spot where all men normally do at some point in their lives. She pointed out she has hair care products for men to reduce the advancement of male baldness, and would I like to try one of these hair care products. I told her I would think about it. Many guy's go for the bald look who are a lot younger than I am and I have wondered how I would look just going the bald route. The more I think about it the lass I like the idea so i think I will try one of my barbers hair care products for male baldness. Maybe it will work and maybe not but I will not know if I do not try the hair care product she recommends. I have been so busy lately that I have completely forgotten the fact that Sunday is Valentine's Day. No Time for Hair Care Leads to Hilarious Discovery

I have a problem about thinking there is more time then I really have before having to hit the road. This happened on one such night I was supposed to meet my girlfriend for 7pm dinner reservations. Standing in the shower, my cell phone vibrated on the bathroom counter and figuring it was her possibly changing the plans, I stepped out of the shower to see. Sure enough it was her and the text said, “Just got here, you close?” What. I looked at the time and it was 6:30. I later found out this was the actual time of our reservations. Not wanting to start the night off bad, I like always said, “Almost there.”

There was no time for hair care or even to finish the shower. I dried off, threw some gel in, got dressed, sprayed cologne fragrance and ran out the door. The place was within walking distance so I ran. About 30 yards before getting there, I slowed to a walk to make it seem like I didn’t just rush over. She was there waiting and we took our seat.
