trendy clothes, perfume andI’m not obsessed about it but I do care about my appearance. Hence I make an effort with hair care, trendy clothes, perfume and makeup. I mentioned in an earlier post that my step-granddaughter is becoming more particular about these things too. I didn’t realize until recently, though, that I am actually her role model. I was talking to my granddaughter Alisha yesterday and she remarked how I always look great whenever I go anywhere and that I have a lot of trendy clothes and cologne fragrances that smell nice. I am not entirely sure how I feel about being Alisha’s role model when it comes to trendy clothes and grooming. In a way I am glad but I don’t think I am vain and I do not want her to become too fixated by her appearance. The only reason why I am so fastidious about such matters is that I am actually quite shy and I dislike the idea of people making negative judgments about me. To me creating a favorable impression with trendy clothes is simply about surviving in modern society because people notice such things.  Other children can be remarkably cruel and so to some extent Alisha is wise to care about her appearance. Yet I still want her to focus more on getting an education and developing what is on the inside.
