Trendy Clothes
Trendy clothes are a “must” if you are a teenager but when you have a single mom who is honest with you without putting the dynamics of the household on your shoulders, then you understand why sometimes it is hard to always be in style. However, thanks to both a great discount store in town and being able to shop online, my son has trendy clothes that match his friends in the style department.
We went shopping one day and he found name brand trendy clothes at the discount store for a cheaper price than at the mall. He was able to buy more items because we were spending less money on each item of trendy clothes. His friends would never have to know, I told him. But he was not ashamed to be raised by a single mom and told them exactly where he got them and it is one of the most popular stores in town because kids are more aware of cost dynamics these days.
I took him online shortly before his birthday and told him he could pick out some trendy clothes. When he saw how even more discounted those names were online, I realized that economics and math had definitely been absorbed by him. The young man left this morning for college. I miss him already but I know he is going to be just fine out there in the world. He already has a good head on his shoulders.
