trendy clothesDuring my late adolescence I went through a phase when I deliberately avoided trendy clothes. It was during the 1990s when grunge rock bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam were popular. At that time anyone who insisted on wearing trendy clothes was considered anything but cool. I didn’t think about it at the time but by refusing to wear trendy clothes and dressing like a rock chick I was actually more mainstream than I would have liked to admit. Millions of teens all over the world refused to wear trendy clothes during the 1990s. Therefore our grungy looking apparel actually became trendy and mainstream.
Now my attitude to trendy clothes is far more sensible. If I am shopping online and I see trendy clothes at the right price and think they might suit me I purchase them. Generally I don’t care if the apparel I buy falls under the category of trendy clothes or not. I am not trying to fit in and nor do I want to stand out from the crowd or make a statement. All I want is to look nice in the clothing I choose to wear.
