Trendy Clothes
This morning my daughter informed me that if I was going to come to her school next week to pass out cookies that I’d need to wear some of my trendy clothes so I wouldn’t embarrass her in front of her friends. Personally, I have always thought that I didn’t wear anything but trendy clothes, but after a lengthier conversation with my daughter, she has assured me that my idea of trendy clothes and her idea are two different things.
As we continued to talk, she informed me that last year one of her best friends mom showed up at the school with her flannel pajama bottoms on, and even though they were black and it wasn’t extremely obvious, my daughter said that some of the kids did notice and were teasing her. Being a teenager isn’t easy, and I know that image is everything to them, which is why she wants me to wear trendy clothes and look hip amongst her peers. I assured her that I would wear the new clothes that I’d just ordered online, and since she is the one who helped me choose them in the first place, I got her seal of approval.
