Hair Care for those Long Locks! |

I have had long hair for as long as I can remember. Hair care for those long locks requires some special attention. First and foremost one must never begin brushing long hair from the part and rip it through. Oh no, that will definitely create split ends and dry hair. It is most important to hold the locks to avoid yanking the scalp and gently pull a brush or comb through the hair. Then gradually work the way up to the scalp. My hair care includes combing my long locks at least three times a day and always before bed to avoid unnecessary tangling in the morning.
I have found that hair care for my longer hair is easier when I wash it every other day and use a leave in conditioner. I have spent way too much time in the shower when I have used a conditioner that requires rinsing out. So I use a leave in conditioner after my shower and apply it to my wet head of hair. Plus I have found that my hair will dry out if it is washed too often.
Hair care need not be a stressful event when it is long. It just requires a different approach than hair that is shorter than the shoulders. The beauty of longer locks is in the hair care and the myriad of ways it can be worn. Long hair is fun, sexy and beautiful when cared for properly.
