Sometimes we allow ourselves to become complacent, and we no longer take the extra step to be fashionably updated.  After retirement, I believe I began falling into that category.  Although I retired at a younger age, I failed to keep myself in the loop of trendy clothes, updated hair care and socializing.  After about six months, it was as if I "woke up."  What was I doing?  Here I am living in the best time of my life, and I'm not with the program.  Well, that changed quickly!  I decided to have a makeover, and that simple step was a wonderful turning point!  What fun, and what changes occurred.  We work hard all of our lives, and we do our best for family and friends; but, we somehow give to ourselves last. 

Now, I have a chic new hair style, trendy clothes, an updatedl new cologne fragrance, and I am getting out and socializing weekly.  There is so much to do, and I am having a fabulous time.  About thirty or so years ago, I painted as a hobby; now, I am painting again.  I play Mahjonn, I play cards, I go to the theater, travel, and do more things with my family than ever before.  Retirement should represent the accumulation of years of accomplishments ending with the reward of relaxation and freedom.  Finally, it is here...
