hair care, perfume andMy step-granddaughter Alisha has now reached the age at which most girls start taking more of an interest in hair care. She has a friend called Angel and they use a straightening iron to style each other’s hair on a regular basis. In a way I am glad that Alisha is taking more of an interest in things like hair care, perfume and bath products. You see it means I don’t have to worry about her staying clean and well groomed. However in another way I have mixed feeling because frankly Alisha is becoming a fastidious little madam. For instance I had my hair highlighted the last time I had it cut at the beginning of July. I am making another appointment for a trim and to have my color touched up at the end of this month. I told Alisha I’d take her to have her hair cut when I have mine done. I’ll be darned if she didn’t expect to get highlights put in as well. I’m glad she’s interested in hair care but I told her she will have to wait until she is older for highlights because she is eleven not eighteen. I may, however, allow her to try one of those temporary color rinses just to make her feel a bit more grown up.
