hair careContrary to some misinformed popular beliefs, hair care is not the largest deal closer in the workplace these days. In fact, many laws have been enacted to protect employers from discriminating against people just because they have longer hair, or their hair is not what the other guy has. Indeed, I have had long hair most of my life and it has never prevented me from being hired. In fact, my resume is great and well versed and I have always had an employer ask me, would you cut your hair? I respond: hair care is not part of the job. To which they agree. Surely I would have to agree that some jobs, like customer service, require you maintain certain hair care. But all of the other members in my band have colored (like red and blue) hair and are managers at large corporations. Since they don’t interact with customers, their hair care does not matter. I think that people with different hair styles and different hair care trends are what make this country so diverse and unique; it’s what makes American truly amazing!
